Separatists under custody, admits IHK IGP
SRINAGAR—Kashmir police chief Syed Javid Mujtaba Gillani has admitted that the separatist leaders have been “taken into preventive custody so that peace in the Valley is not disturbed.”
Talking to media Monday, the Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Range) said: “Yasin Malik has been arrested as there is a case against him. As far as detention of rest of separatists is concerned, they have been taken into preventive custody to ensure peace is not disturbed.” Gillani was reacting to a query why separatist leaders are not being released from jails or house-detentions.
