Per­vaiz dis­trib­utes prizes among win­ners of tent peg­ging

ISLAMABAD—Two-day an­nual tent peg­ging com­pe­ti­tion held in con­nec­tion with Mar­galla Sports Festival con­cluded here on late Sun­day at Fa­tima Jin­nah Park.

Min­is­ter for In­for­ma­tion, Broad­cast­ing and Na­tional Her­itage Sen­a­tor Per­vaiz Rashid was the chief guest of the event and dis­trib­uted prizes amongst the rid­ers and teams.

Around 400 horse­men across the coun­try par­tic­i­pated in com­pe­ti­tion with their beau­ti­ful horses and col­or­ful dresses.

The com­pe­ti­tion was also par­tic­i­pated by renowned teams and rid­ers of Khy­ber Pakhtunkhawa, Pun­jab and Azad Kash­mir.

Event was in­cluded Sin­gle, Dou­ble and Four Men-Team cat­e­gories com­pe­ti­tion which were ar­ranged in flood­lights in or­der to avoid hot weather and to fa­cil­i­tate the rid­ers and spec­ta­tors.

The event was also at­tended by Prime Min­is­ter’s Spe­cial As­sis­tant on po­lit­i­cal af­fairs Dr Asif Kir­mani , Min­is­ter of State for Cap­i­tal Ad­min­is­tra­tion and De­vel­op­ment Divi­sion (CADD), Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and MPA Raja Hanif Ad­vo­cate.

The event was in­au­gu­rated by the Deputy May­ors of Islamabad Metropoli­tan Cor­po­ra­tion (IMC) Syed Zee­shan Shah Naqvi, Ch Ref­fat Javed and Muham­mad Azam Khan on Satur­day.

The or­ga­niz­ers of the tent peg­ging have pre­sented the sou­venir to the guests and also thanked them for en­cour­ag­ing the play­ers and crowd.—APP
