Aaqib Javed re­fuses to serve as bowling coach for BD

ISLAMABAD—Former Pak­istani Test player Aaqib Javed on Mon­day has re­fused to serve as Bangladesh’s bowling coach.

Ac­cord­ing to a pri­vate news chan­nel quot­ing sources said that Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) ap­proached Aaqib Javed to be­come teams bowling coach but he re­fused the offer due to his ser­vices for cricket in Pak­istan.

Re­cently, Aaqib Javed was ap­pointed as di­rec­tor for La­hore Qa­lan­dars in Pak­istan Su­per League while he is also likely to be the bowling con­sul­tant for na­tional team.

Ear­lier, former bowler Aaqib Javed re­signed from coach­ing post of United Arab Emi­rates (UAE) team.

He was ap­pointed as coach to UAE team in 2012 that per­formed stun­ningly in Asia Cup un­der his guid­ance.—APP
