Three killed in at­tack on wine shop

KARACHI—Po­lice re­ported Mon­day that 3 per­sons were killed in an at­tack on a wine shop in Sachal Goth area by 3 mo­tor­cy­clists. One them ,a guard was iden­ti­fied as Shahid Khan, while the re­main­ing 2 were Tara Chand and Heera Lal.

Re­ports that the shop on Abul Hasan Is­pa­hani Road was owned by a mi­nor­ity com­mu­nity mem­ber, Naro Lal.

Two hel­met-wear­ing per­sons had ear­lier shot the guard, then opened the shop by break­ing its win­dow­pane, and then shot two others dead. Naro­mal had ear­lier re­ceived ex­tor­tions threats at his Ko­rangi wine shop.

Mean­while, ex­tor­tion­ists once again spread ter­ror in the city as three per­sons were killed in fir­ing in­ci­dent on a shop near the area of Gul­shane-Iqbal, Abu AlHas­san Road here on late Sun­day night.

Malir SSP Rao An­war said that the shop-owner had re­ceived threats ear­lier in Ko­rangi and po­lice had been in­ves­ti­gat­ing the mat­ter as an ex­tor­tion case. Po­lice re­vealed that de­ceased peo­ple in­cluded a se­cu­rity guard and two shop­keep­ers.

Ini­tial re­ports re­vealed that two ter­ror­ists be­long­ing to a ban out­fit were in­volved in killing of the three per­sons while three 9mm bul­let shells had also been re­cov­ered from the scene.—INP photo
