of Yasin Malik and ordered to keep him at central jail Srinagar till 11th June 2016,” the spokesman JAMMU—Ridiculing the tall claims made by the state and central government on good governance and ‘Achhe Din’, former minister and Chairman, JKNPP, Harsh Dev Singh Tuesday lambasted the BJP leadership for subjecting the people to miseries in the wake of unprecedented power cuts in the region.

In a press note issued here, Singh said that the massive scheduled and unscheduled power cuts have literally sucked the life out of the people with no takers for their woes.

He said that while the mandated leaders of Jammu were rejoicing the cool breeze and ravishing ambience of Kashmir resorts, the people of Jammu especially the aged, ailing and the children are having the nightmarish experiences of the much proclaimed ‘Achhe Din’ of the BJP partnered government.

Harsh Dev Singh Said that the unprecedented power crisis during scorching summer has thrown life out of gear in both urban and rural areas.

He regretted that despite the pathetic plight of the people, the elected representatives had failed to effectively project their concerns in the Assembly.

He deplored that rather than assuring a fair deal to the Jammu people, the BJP MLAs were shamelessly agitating in the Assembly for enhancement of their salaries, perks and CDF.

Strongly flaying the callous and insensitive attitude of the PDD, he said that the people of Jammu region are made to suffer immense hardships due to scorching heat with no respite from scheduled and unscheduled power cuts despite assurances.

He said that the Jammu region was the major sufferer with the government and its ministers being mute spectators in the face of a critical and crisis like situation.

Citing figures, he said that the power consumption between Jammu and Kashmir regions is in the ratio of 40:60, respectively but when it comes to revenue realization.

Jammu contributes more than 66% of power tariff with barely 33% coming from Kashmir region.—GK asserted that “scaring people who love freedom more than their lives by jails, tortures and other oppressive
