ASF Level-I Squash Coach­ing Course con­cludes

PE­SHAWAR—The Asian Squash Federation Level-I Squash Coach­ing Course or­ga­nized un­der the aegis of Asian Squash Federation and Pak­istan Squash Federation con­cluded here with 15 male and fe­male par­tic­i­pants suc­cess­fully com­pleted the course.

The ob­jec­tive of the course is to pro­vide up­dated coach­ing and train­ing skills to those in the field of squash as coach, Group Cap­tain As­ghar Awan, Di­rec­tor Pak­istan Air Force Sports Con­trol Com­mit­tee told APP here at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Com­plex on Tues­day.

He said ASF and PSF have jointly or­ga­nized the Level-I Squash Coach­ing Course with the aim to pro­duce more qual­i­fied squash coaches and train­ers in or­der to pro­mote squash sys­tem­at­i­cally.

He said as de­sired by Pres­i­dent Pak­istan Squash Federation, the course was con­ducted in Islamabad, fol­lowed with cer­tifi­cates dis­tri­bu­tion cer­e­mony in PAF Hashim Khan Squash Academy wherein play­ers of var­i­ous ages were as­so­ci­ated with the Academy.

He said two leg­ends Qa­mar Za­man and Jan­sher Khan is look­ing af­ter the Academy where the play­ers of var­i­ous age groups are im­part­ing train­ing and coach­ing un­der well qual­i­fied coaches. The play­ers, he said, are cur­rently un­der train­ing hav­ing age be­tween 10-16 year.

About the coach­ing course, he said, Course Con­duc­tor Khalid At­las Khan im­parted coach­ing and train­ing to the 15 par­tic­i­pants at­tended the course with 12 male and three fe­male from Pe­shawar, Karachi, La­hore and Rawalpindi.

The par­tic­i­pants from Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa com­pris­ing Muham­mad Mobeen, Muham­mad Adil, Muham­mad Ali, Muham­mad Ibrahim, Ali Maq­sood Hanif, Farhan Ah­mad and Sa­dia Gul.

The prob­a­ble from La­hore in­clud­ing Muham­mad Azeem Ashraf, Moin Rauf, Rif­fat Khan, Shahzad Ali Khan, Nu­mair Khalil Khan, Syed Mohsin Raza Zaidia and Mad­ina Za­far from Karachi.

In the course, he said, the par­tic­i­pants learnt about the lat­est de­vel­op­ment in squash, mod­ern train­ing styles, mod­ern teach­ing styles, fit­ness train­ing and about in­jury pre­ven­tion. The course at­ten­dents also learn in de­tail about the ba­sic strokes of squash which will help them to de­velop player skills and cover all per­for­mance by en­abling them to give podium per­for­mances on na­tional and in­ter­na­tional lev­els.

Dur­ing the cer­tifi­cates dis­tri­bu­tion cer­e­mony Di­rec­tor Sports Pak­istan Air Force Sports Con­trol Com­mit­tee Group Cap­tain As­ghar Awan also ap­pre­ci­ated the par­tic­i­pants and en­cour­age them to come and work hard for the pro­mo­tion of squash in their re­spec­tive ar­eas.—APP
