Sharmila ap­pre­ci­ates ini­tia­tive of ju­nior chef course by PITHM

KARACHI—Spe­cial As­sis­tant to CM Sindh for Cul­ture and Tourism Sharmila Faruqui ap­pre­ci­ated the ini­tia­tive of 1st ju­nior Chef Course by Pak­istan In­sti­tute of Tourism and Ho­tel Man­age­ment (PITHM), and said that the pi­o­neer In­sti­tute of Hos­pi­tal­ity of the coun­try has once again cre­ated his­tory by launch­ing 1st Ju­nior Chef Course for school go­ing chil­dren of 5 to 14 years age.

Ac­cord­ing to de­tails, the 1st Class of the pro­gram was con­ducted by Pro­fes­sional Chef Aamir Iqbal with as­sis­tant of Chef Ghaz­ala Khan and Patis­serie Chef Asif Jameel An­sari on June 7, 2016, in Pak­istan In­sti­tute of Tourism and Ho­tel Man­age­ment.

The Ju­nior Chef Course is 10 days pro­gram where lit­tle stars are trained to pre­pare their own lunch box while go­ing to school so they can avoid junk and un­hy­gienic foods.

In the Ju­nior Chef Course, stu­dents are trained to pre­pare Pizza, Mini Burg­ers, Spaghetti with meat balls, Fish & Chips, Chicken Nuggets, Pasta, As­sorted Sand­wiches, Co­conut Macrons, Veg­etable Spring Rolls, Cakes, Choco­late Brownie, Dough­nuts, Muffins and Po­tato Salad.

Fam­i­lies of the par­tic­i­pants highly ap­pre­ci­ated the ef­forts of Pak­istan In­sti­tute of Tourism and Ho­tel Man­age­ment for this in­no­va­tive idea.

Di­rec­tor PITHM con­firmed over­whelm­ing re­sponse for this course and in­formed that sig­nif­i­cant num­ber of fam­i­lies has ap­proached to en­roll their chil­dren in Ju­nior Chef Pro­gram.

Sharmila Faruqui in­formed that other short term cour­ses and pro­grams will also be started in PITHM as per de­mand of peo­ple.—INP
