SHC seeks de­tailed re­port on Dr Asim’s brother-in-law

KARACHI—The SHC Tues­day called for a de­tailed re­port from the NAB in­ves­ti­ga­tors who had dis­closed that Dr Asim’s brother-in-law Khalid Bin Sha­heen had been in­volved in trans­fer­ring huge sums of money to des­ti­na­tions out­side Pak­istan through il­le­gal means

Asim, a for­mer min­is­ter and close aide of ex­Pres­i­dent Asif Zarari is fac­ing charges of cor­rup­tion and em­bez­zling govern­ment funds. He has been un­der cus­tody for quite a while. Khalid Bin Shaeen is be­ing in­ves­ti­gated in two ref­er­ences against Dr Asim, who the NAB prose­cu­tor said had re­vealed in­for­ma­tions about his rel­a­tive. He had floated a com­pany called Home Re­mit­tance through which money has been trans­ferred abroad. Sha­heen told the court that the rangers, FIA had been grilling him. The court asked NAB prose­cu­tor place be­fore it rel­e­vant ma­te­rial and a de­tailed re­port about him.
