82 prof­i­teers ar­rested

PE­SHAWAR—Dis­trict ad­min­is­tra­tion ar­rested 82 per­sons in crack­down against prof­i­teers in dif­fer­ent bazaars of the city in Ra­mazan. The ar­rested prof­i­teers were in­cluded butch­ers, milk sell­ers, fruit & veg­etable sell­ers and gro­cers and will be dealt as per law of the prov­ince.

Ac­cord­ing to de­tails, soon af­ter the fall of Ra­mazan, the of­fi­cials of the dis­trict ad­min­is­tra­tion vis­ited dif­fer­ent bazaars in garb of com­mon cit­i­zens as shop­keep­ers were used to close their shops on en­ter­ing into bazaars to foiled the pur­pose of the check­ing.

There­fore, the of­fi­cials of dis­trict ad­min­is­tra­tion changed its pol­icy and now they are mon­i­tor­ing bazaars in garb of com­mon cit­i­zens, which is prov­ing use­ful.

In such an op­er­a­tion, the Ad­di­tional Deputy Com­mis­sioner (ADC), Ir­shad Sod­her along with As­sis­tant Com­mis­sioner (AC) Altaf Sheikh, AC UT Mugees Sanaullah and Ad­di­tional As­sis­tant Com­mis­sion­ers (AACs), An­warul-Haq and Fazi­lat Je­han con­ducted joint raids Hay­atabad, Hasht­na­gri, Karim­pura and G.T. Road and ar­rested 15 prof­i­teers. Sim­i­larly, AAC Im­ran Khan con­ducted raids in Board Bazaar and Tehkal and ar­rested 15 per­sons while AAC Ab­dul Nabi ar­rested 12 prof­i­teers from Faqirab ad and Pa­haripura ar­eas.

AAC Bashir Ah­mad con­ducted raids against prof­i­teers in Nau­thia and ar­rested 8 per­sons while AAC Mir Khawas Khan Wazir ar­rested 11 prof­i­teers from Warsak Road.—APP
