Sub­sidy on gram pulses, flour slashed in Ra­mazan Bazaars

LAHORE—On the in­struc­tion of Pun­jab Chief Min­is­ter Muham­mad She­hbaz Sharif, pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment has de­cided to en­hance sub­sidy on gram pulse and gram flour in Ra­madan Bazaars and prices of these items will be fur­ther re­duced by Rs. 10 in Ra­madan bazaars.

This de­ci­sion will be im­ple­mented in Ra­madan bazaars through­out the prov­ince and gram pulse and gram flour will now be avail­able at Rs. 20 per kg be­low the mar­ket price.

The Chief Min­is­ter while is­su­ing in­struc­tions to pro­vin­cial cab­i­net com­mit­tee on price con­trol from Lon­don said that in­dis­crim­i­nate ac­tion should be con­tin­ued against hoard­ers and prof­i­teers and no one will be al­lowed to ex­ploit the masses.

He said that all es­sen­tial items should be avail­able in abun­dance in Ra­madan bazaars and no com­pro­mise will be made on their qual­ity.

He fur­ther di­rected that all pos­si­ble steps should be taken for the pro­vi­sion of re­lief to the cit­i­zens. He said that peo­ple will di­rectly ben­e­fit from de­crease in the prices of gram pulse and gram flour.
