legislator and AIP chairman Er Rashid was on Wednesday marshalled out of the Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly after he vehemently demanded the release of a Muslim leader from Jammu booked under the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA).
Syed Shabir Ahmad Shah, president Muslim Development Forum, was reportedly booked under the PSA for “being a threat to peace”.
As Rashid raised the issue and sought the release of Shah, BJP lawmakers confronted him by saying that he was disrupting the proceedings of the House. Later, he was marshalled out of the house.—GK
