KARACHI—The out­stand­ing per­for­mance by Open­ing bats­man and Wicket keeper Fa­had Khan made Bank Is­lami vic­to­ri­ous against Sony As­so­ciates by 4 wick­ets in the open­ing match of 29th Aga Khan Gymkhana Ra­mazan cup T20 cricket here at AKG New up­graded cricket ground.

On the oc­ca­sion of open­ing cer­e­mony Chair­man of Aga Khan gymkhana Hakim Ali khan was the chief guest and in­au­gu­rated the event.

Cricket con­vener Mir Afzal Baig, mem­bers tour­na­ment com­mit­tee Ir­fan Su­rani, Hamid Ali, Se­nior Pro­ducer Ra­dio Pak­istan, Anis ur Rehman, Saleem Nadir, Ex Cap­tain AKG Sabir Hussain, Azeem Dur­rani, Me­dia co­or­di­na­tor M.Nizam and oth­ers also at­tended the cer­e­mony.

Sony as­so­ciates bat­ting first in the Group A en­counter, mange only 129 for 9 wick­ets in 20 over.

Farhan khan 23 runs in 19 balls with two fours and Babar Hussain 23 in 23 balls with three fours were the main scorers from the looser.

Off spinner Shameer Khatak grabbed three wick­ets for 21 runs. Off spinner Ahmed Fa­rooq and Ab­dul Ma­jid took 2 wick­ets each for 18 and 38 runs re­spec­tively.

In re­ply, Bank Is­lami achieved the tar­get with fac­ing much re­sis­tance from ri­val and scored 132 runs with loss of 6 wick­ets in 17.01 overs.

Opener Tal­ented wicket keeper and bats­man Fa­had khan made 56 off 39 de­liv­er­ies with the help of eight fours and a six and Shafat Hussain scored 21 ( five fours) in 11 balls, Ah­mad Fa­rooqi made 18 in 20 balls (three four).

Fa­had Khan was ad­judged man of the match and re­ceived cash prize from Mr. Al-Ameem Turyani, Se­nior Mem­ber Fi­nance AKG.

On Thurs­day the match would be held be­tween Dol­lar East and Ta­pal in Group C.—APP
