1.86 tons nar­cotics re­cov­ered, 17 smug­glers in­clud­ing 3 women ar­rested

RAWALPINDI—Anti Nar­cotics Force (ANF) in 15 coun­try­wide op­er­a­tions has re­cov­ered 1.86 tons nar­cotics worth Rs 1.12 bil­lion in in­ter­na­tional mar­ket while 17 drug smug­glers in­clud­ing three ladies were sent behind the bars. Ac­cord­ing to de­tails, the re­cov­ered drugs com­prised 1.847 tons of hashish, 5.6 kg am­phetamine, 950 grams metham­phetamine, one kg heroin and 7.2 kg opium.

Op­er­a­tions were car­ried out at Islamabad, At­tock, Sialkot, Mandi Bahauddin, Multan, Faisal­abad, Now­shehra, Haripur, Karachi, Las­bela and Quetta. ANF Karachi while act­ing on a tipoff raided a house si­t­u­ated at Jhola Lal Chowk, Muham­mad Khan Colony, Ite­had Town, Karachi and seized 1750 kg hashish stocked at the house.

In another op­er­a­tion, ANF Karachi ar­rested a pas­sen­ger namely Mir Ghazan res­i­dent of Swabi at Jin­nah In­ter­na­tional Air­port, Karachi and seized 950 gram metham­phetamine from his pos­ses­sion. He in­tended to take off for Jed­dah by Flight No. PA-1707. Yet in another op­er­a­tion, ANF Karachi re­cov­ered 42 kg hashish from pos­ses­sion of the ac­cused namely Muham­mad Nabi r/ o Karachi who was ar­rested near Taj Ho­tel, Al-Mad­ina Coach, Al-Asif Square, Su­per High­way, Karachi.

ANF Rawalpindi ar­rested a pas­sen­ger iden­ti­fied as Noor Khan r/o Swat at Be­nazir Bhutto In­ter­na­tional Air­port, Islamabad, and re­cov­ered 1.114 kg am­phetamine. In another op­er­a­tion, ANF Rawalpindi ar­rested a lo­cal drug sup­plier and re­cov­ered one kg hashish from his pos­ses­sion.

ANF Lahore re­cov­ered 2.2 kg opium from the pos­ses­sion of Mu­nawar Iqbal. In another op­er­a­tion, ANF Lahore re­cov­ered 440 grams heroin from pos­ses­sion of lo­cal drug ped­dler namely Aftab Ahmed. ANF Lahore Air­port team ar­rested a pas­sen­ger namely Ab­dul Latif r/o Ve­hari at Multan Air­port, and re­cov­ered 450 gram am­phetamine.—APP
