Strong gusty winds, rain likely at scat­tered places

ISLAMABAD—The rain and dust-thun­der­storm pre­dicted by the weather ex­perts for the next 24 hours will bring re­lief for the heat stricken faith­ful dur­ing the first Ashra of Ramzan. Ac­cord­ing to the Pak­istan Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal De­part­ment (PMD), rain and dust-thun­der­storm with strong gusty winds was ex­pected at scat­tered places Pun­jab, Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and Kash­mir in evening time dur­ing the next 24 hours.

Rain and dust thun­der­storm with strong gusty winds are likely in Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gu­jran­wala, Lahore di­vi­sions, FATA, Islamabad and Kash­mir while at few places in Malakand, Mar­dan, Pe­shawar, Ko­hat di­vi­sions dur­ing night. Hot and dry weather is ex­pected in most parts of the coun­try dur­ing the day time dur­ing the next 24 hours.

Dust rais­ing winds are also likely in Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Deera Is­mail Khan, Bahawalpur, Faisal­abad, Sargodha, Quetta, Sukkur, Mir­purkhas and Hy­der­abad di­vi­sions. Ac­cord­ing to the syn­op­tic sit­u­a­tion, sea­sonal low was ly­ing over north Balochis­tan with its trough ex­tend­ing south-east­wards. Weak moist cur­rents are pen­e­trat­ing in eastern parts of the coun­try and likely to con­tinue dur­ing next 24 hours.—APP
