The face everyone liked

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION - P SENTHIL SARAVANA DURAI

The news about the sad demise of Muhammad Ali, boxing giant, has sent shockwaves across the world. Ali sported the natural physique that just added to his personality like anything. Sports are great thing in life and seeing great personalities in the field of sports and just embracing them wholeheartedly are great feelings.

Going down the memory lane, I had heard and seen a lot of news about Ali through the media during the days of my school and college [in the 1990s]. Though many happenings and uncertainties [like his fight against disease] had taken a heavy toll on Muhammad Ali, the fact is that he had inspired many and is still inspiring millions of people the world over. Any step towards establishing a memorial commemorating boxing sport [game he loved and breathed till fag end of life] will be a great tribute to Ali. — Maharashtra, India
