The advisor on foreign affairs said the recent drone attack in which the Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor was killed, has breached our sovereignty, caused a serious setback to the peace efforts and intensified hostilities in Afghanistan.
Regarding relation with India, the Adviser said Pakistan was ready to discuss comprehensive dialogue with India but the non-state actors in form of Pathankot incident spoil the talks.
Pakistan has expressed concern over growing IndoUS defence relations saying it will disturb strategic and conventional balance of power in South Asia, said Sartaj Aziz added we will share our concerns with international community about threats to regional peace and stability.
India talks about non-state actors thus they have also concerns about state terrorism of India, while they are trying to convince US about strategic nuclear balance in the region.
He said Pakistan has the right to maintain minimum nuclear deterrence to defend itself in the given situation.
Regarding Kashmir he said that Pakistan would continue to support Kashmiris in political, moral and diplomatic ways.
Sartaj Aziz stressed dialogue is the only way to solution of all outstanding issues between Pakistan and India.
PM’s adviser said that Pakistan’s relations with European Union and Russia are moving in positive direction.
Sartaj Aziz added other achievements included increased cooperation with Central Asia countries obtaining of full membership of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and creation of quadrilateral Coordination Group to facilitate Afghan peace process.
