CTP net 117 beg­gars from city roads

RAWALPINDI—City Traf­fic Po­lice (CTP) rounded up 117 beg­gars from city roads dur­ing May while 87 cases have been reg­is­tered as pro­fes­sional beg­gars.

Ac­cord­ing to Act­ing Chief Traf­fic Of­fi­cer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Iftikhar ul Haq, the cases have been reg­is­tered in var­i­ous po­lice sta­tions of the city.

He said that city traf­fic po­lice, on the di­rec­tive of Regional Po­lice Of­fi­cer (RPO) Rawalpindi Muham­mad Wisal Fakhar Sul­tan Raja, is try­ing to elim­i­nate beg­ging from city roads and dur­ing its ef­forts, as many as 117 beg­gars were rounded up.—APP
