Govt de­cides to al­lo­cate Rs12b up­lift bud­get to AJK

ISLAMABAD—In com­par­i­son with the pre­vi­ous bud­get, the fed­eral gov­ern­ment this time has de­cided to re­vise Azad Kash­mir’s de­vel­op­ment bud­get by only Rs500 mil­lion.

Azad Kash­mir will get twelve bil­lion ru­pees un­der the de­vel­op­ment bud­get for the year 2016-17.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, Rs7,919 mil­lion have been ear­marked for in­fra­struc­ture, Rs2,229 mn for so­cial sec­tor and Rs1,891 mn have been pro­posed for pro­duc­tion sec­tors. Rs4,499 mn have been al­lo­cated to com­mu­ni­ca­tion, Ed­u­ca­tion Rs1,270 mn, en­ergy Rs1,240 mn, de­vel­op­ment au­thor­i­ties Rs650 mn, health Rs410 mn, agri­cul­ture Rs357 mn, lol­cal gov­ern­ment Rs650 mn and Rs425 mn have been fixed for for­est de­part­ment.—DNA
