PSO enters into agreement for fuel supplies to Thar coal mines
KARACHI—The Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has inked an agreement for fuel supplies to Thar coal mines, an announcement said here on Thursday. It said that in order to maintain seamless HSD supplies to the Thar Mining Project Block II, Pakistan’s top oil marketing company PSO has entered into an agreement with the China East Resource Import & Export Corporation (CERIECO), the EPC (Engineering Procurement & Construction) and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) contractor of Sindh Engro Coal Mining Co. (SECMC).
The signing ceremony was held at PSO House here, it was further pointed out. The contract is for the entire project period of the EPC stage between CERIECO and SECMC and the O&M contract period between the same parties. The deal is of major significance as it ensures uninterrupted work on the Thar Mining Project which is a part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The project is also listed among the prioritized projects of CPEC. PSO’s General Manager Consumer Business, Raja Imranullah Khan, and Project Director CERIECO, LiKan signed the agreement. Also present at the signing ceremony were Director Mining SECMC Abul Fazl Rizvi, and PSO officials.
