Ship­ping ac­tiv­ity at Port Qasim

KARACHI—Five ships C.V CMA CGM Ama­zon, C.V Maersk Salalah, M.V Alam Mu­tiara, M.T At­lantic Glory and M.T As­maa sched­ule to load/off­load con­tain­ers, ce­ment, chem­i­cals and fur­nace oil were ar­ranged berthing at Qaim in­ter­na­tional Con­tainer Ter­mi­nal, multi Pur­pose Ter­mi­nal and FOTCO Oil Ter­mi­nal re­spec­tively on Wed­nes­day. Mean­while three more ships M.T Glove Ta­nia, M.V Pazeh Wis­dom and M.T Asian Glory with LPG coke and palm oil also ar­rived at outer an­chor­age of Port Qasim dur­ing last 24 hours.

Berths oc­cu­pancy was man­aged at the port at sixty per­cent on Wed­nes­day where a to­tal of nine ships namely C.V CMA CGM Ama­zon, C.V Maersk, Salalah, C.V Maersk Colum­bus, M.T Han Zheng, M.V Alam Mu­tiara, M.V Chem­road Lily, M.V Ikan Bawal, M.T At­lantic Glory and M.T As­maa were oc­cu­pied PQA berths to load/ off­load con­tain­ers, ce­ment, rice, coal, project cargo, soya bean seeds, palm oil and diesel oil re­spec­tively dur­ing last 24 hours. A cargo vol­ume of 100,985 tonnes, com­pris­ing 68,443 tonnes im­ports and 32,542 tonnes ex­ports, in­clu­sive of con­tainer­ized cargo car­ried in 3,570 con­tain­ers (TEUs)(1,752 TEUs im­ports and 829 TEUs ex­ports) was han­dled at the port dur­ing last 24 hours.

Two ships, M.T Chem­road lily and Maersk Colum­bus sailed out to sea on Thurs­day, while another ships C.V CMA CGM Ama­zon is ex­pected to sail on same day af­ter­noon. Four ships C.V Suez Canal, M.T Globe Ta­nia, m.T Asian Glory and M.V Pozeh Wis­dom car­ry­ing con­tain­ers, LPG, palm oil and coke are ex­pected to take berths at QICT, SSGC, LCT and MW3 re­spec­tively on Thurs­day, while two more con­tain­ers ship CCNI Arauco.—APP
