Pun­jab In­ter-divi­sional archery from June 22

LAHORE—Pun­jab In­ter divi­sional archery cham­pi­onship will be or­gan­ised here from June 22 at Bahria archery academy.

“The event is a step for­ward to pro­mote archery in the prov­ince and we are ex­pect­ing a thrilling com­pe­ti­tion dur­ing the two-day event”, said Man­zar Shah Fareed, Sec­re­tary, Pun­jab Archery As­so­ci­a­tion (PAA), while talk­ing to APP on Thurs­day.He said as many as nine teams in­clud­ing Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahi­wal, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Gu­jran­wala, Faisal­abad and Lahore will dis­play their tal­ent and tech­nique in the event. “All the par­tic­i­pat­ing teams are pre­par­ing hard at their re­spec­tive train­ing camps and we an­tic­i­pate close com­pe­ti­tion”, he said.

He said the event was be­ing or­ga­nized as part of in­ter­na­tional Olympic day cel­e­bra­tions. He said PAA was tak­ing ev­ery mea­sure to pro­mote the sport in the prov­ince and was orgnais­ing se­nior and ju­nior level events on reg­u­lar ba­sis to ex­pand base of the game.— APP
