Haleema mur­derer owns killing ex-wife

KARACHI—The prime sus­pect in the Haleema mur­der case, Rizwan, ar­rested yes­ter­day from Su­per High­way with the aid of sen­si­tive agen­cies, has ac­cepted killing his ex-wife, and also re­vealed that he had em­bez­zled her money of about Rs350,000 and jew­ellery which he sold later.

His own­ing the guilt came dur­ing in­ter­ro­ga­tion by po­lice, which had also been told that Rizwan had aban­doned her 4-year old son at Edhi cen­tre. He said he had in­tox­i­cated Haleema through in­jec­tion and later done her to death.

Ab­dul­lah is now with the Edhi Foundation. His fa­ther and aunty, as well as ma­ter­nal mother have been claim­ing her, but Edhi said the is­sue can be re­solved through courts. He told the au­thor­i­ties at Edhi Cen­tre that he had found the boy at Karachi’s Sea View area.

How­ever, on June 1, Haleema’s mur­dered body was found in an apart­ment which the po­lice traced back to Rizwan, who had provided the ac­com­mo­da­tion to Haleema, who was laid to rest in Karachi Wed­nes­day.
