Korean in­vestors evince keen in­ter­est in in­vest­ing so­lar en­ergy pro­jects

Cur­rency Sell­ing Buy­ing ISLAMABAD—A vis­it­ing South Korean del­e­ga­tion here on Fri­day dis­cussed ways and means to in­vest in so­lar en­ergy pro­jects with Di­rec­tor Gen­eral, Board of In­vest­ment (BOI) for For­eign In­vest­ment, So­hail Ahmed Khan. The del­e­ga­tion of M/S CK So­lar and M/S KEPCO KPS was led Dr. CHOI Moon-Sok also dis­cussed the dif­fer­ent in­vest­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties in so­lar en­ergy pro­jects and in­vest­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties be­ing of­fered by Pak­istan in Spe­cially in so­lar en­ergy sec­tor. Brief­ing the del­e­ga­tion of South Korean in­vestors, Di­rec­tor Gen­eral, BOI For­eign In­vest­ment, So­hail Ahmed Khan high­lighted the in­vest­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties in var­i­ous sec­tors of economy es­pe­cially in en­ergy sec­tors.

He men­tioned that the South Korean in­vestors could in­vest in So­lar Tube wells pro­jects ini­ti­ated by Pun­jab gov­ern­ment. He said that dif­fer­ent hy­del en­ergy pro­jects were in process in dif­fer­ent re­gion of the coun­try, where South Korean in­vestors could ben­e­fit from the in­vest­ment friendly poli­cies of the gov­ern­ment. So­hail Ahmed Khan said that the gov­ern­ment had ini­ti­ated var­i­ous hy­del pro­jects in­clud­ing Di­amer Bhasha Dam, Dasu Dam and Bonji Dam. While ap­pre­ci­at­ing the in­vest­ment poli­cies of the Pak­istan, the South Korean del­e­ga­tion said that they were in­ter­ested for in­vest­ing in var­i­ous pro­jects re­lat­ing to so­lar en­ergy pro­jects. The head of del­e­ga­tion, Dr. CHOI Moon-Sok in­formed on the oc­ca­sion said that they had al­ready signed an agree­ment for gen­er­at­ing 300 MG elec­tric­ity in Balochis­tan in So­lar en­ergy project.
