Korean investors evince keen interest in investing solar energy projects
Currency Selling Buying ISLAMABAD—A visiting South Korean delegation here on Friday discussed ways and means to invest in solar energy projects with Director General, Board of Investment (BOI) for Foreign Investment, Sohail Ahmed Khan. The delegation of M/S CK Solar and M/S KEPCO KPS was led Dr. CHOI Moon-Sok also discussed the different investment opportunities in solar energy projects and investment opportunities being offered by Pakistan in Specially in solar energy sector. Briefing the delegation of South Korean investors, Director General, BOI Foreign Investment, Sohail Ahmed Khan highlighted the investment opportunities in various sectors of economy especially in energy sectors.
He mentioned that the South Korean investors could invest in Solar Tube wells projects initiated by Punjab government. He said that different hydel energy projects were in process in different region of the country, where South Korean investors could benefit from the investment friendly policies of the government. Sohail Ahmed Khan said that the government had initiated various hydel projects including Diamer Bhasha Dam, Dasu Dam and Bonji Dam. While appreciating the investment policies of the Pakistan, the South Korean delegation said that they were interested for investing in various projects relating to solar energy projects. The head of delegation, Dr. CHOI Moon-Sok informed on the occasion said that they had already signed an agreement for generating 300 MG electricity in Balochistan in Solar energy project.
