KARACHI—For­mer Pak­istan cap­tain Sal­man Butt played a su­perb un­beaten 83 runs in­nings to guide Dol­lar East record an 8 wicket tri­umph against Ta­pal Cricket Club in 29h Aga Khan Ramzan Fes­ti­val T20 Cricket Tour­na­ment here at Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground.

Chas­ing a tar­get of 153 runs, opener Sal­man Butt scored 83 off 54 balls with the help of nine bound­aries and three sixes, while Test wicket/Keeper Kam­ran Ak­mal struck 32 off 20 balls with the help of four bound­aries and a six to help their side reach the to­tal in 16.1 overs. They added 73 runs for the sec­ond wicket part­ner­ship. Rashid Hanif and Fa­had Iqbal took one wicket each. Ear­lier, Ta­pal CC bat­ted first and put on board 152-7 in 20 overs. Naeem Ahmed Khan top scorer with 30 runs. Fa­had Iqbal make 28 and Sh­er­yar Ghani 27. Left arm spin­ner M.Zubair grabbed three wick­ets for 32 runs while off spin­ner Khur­ram Shahzad took 2-28.

Later, Sal­man Butt was de­clared Man of the Match. Head of sports and for­mer first class crick­eter Za­heer Ahmed Shiekh was the chief guest with Ameen Marchant of Ta­pal. —APP
