Distt Zakat Com­mit­tee dis­patches Eid gifts

IS­LAM­ABAD—Dis­trict Zakat Com­mit­tee Rawalpindi has started dis­tribut­ing Eid gifts, valu­ing Rs 3,000 to 5,000, de­serv­ing poor fam­i­lies, wid­ows and or­phans of the dis­trict.

A mem­ber of Dis­trict Zakat Com­mit­tee Satur­day told APP that the de­serv­ing fam­i­lies were also be­ing sent Rs 1,000 each as Eidi through Easy Paisa. Ear­lier, the Eidi was sent to the de­serv­ing fam­i­lies in the last days of Ramzan-ulMubarak. This year the de­serv­ing have been sent Eidi in the early days of Ramzan-ulMubarak to help en­able them to bet­ter pre­pare to cel­e­brate Eid-ul-Mubarak in a ben­e­fit­ting man­ner. He said the poor fam­i­lies would be dis­trib­uted auto rick­shaws and sewing machines free of charge im­me­di­ately af­ter the Eid-ul-Fitr.

He said the de­serv­ing per­sons should con­tact chair­man Dis­trict Zakat Com­mit­tee Sheikh Sa­jad-ur-Rehman in case of not re­ceiv­ing their gift packs or hav­ing any prob­lem in re­ceiv­ing the gifts.—APP
