JKLF boy­cott Is­lam­abad poll cam­paign

Sai­ful­lah, Ha­keem Ab­dur Rasheed, Syed Bashir An­drabi, Bi­lal Sid­diqui, Syed Imtiyaz Hy­der and Muham­mad Yasin At­tai un­der house ar­rest or Syed Ali Gi­lani in a state­ment in Sri­na­gar strongly de­nounc­ing the de­ten­tion of re­sis­tance lead­ers said SRI­NA­GAR—The Jammu and Kash­mir Lib­er­a­tion Front lead­ers and ac­tivists con­ducted cam­paign for boy­cott of the polls of the so-called As­sem­bly elec­tions in Is­lam­abad dis­trict.

Polling will be held in the con­stituency on the 22nd of this month. The JKLF in a state­ment in Sri­na­gar said that the party rep­re­sen­ta­tives vis­ited dif­fer­ent ar­eas and ap­prised the peo­ple of the neg­a­tive ity into mi­nor­ity here,” the state­ment quoted the lead­ers as hav­ing told the peo­ple.“Ap­peal­ing peo­ple of Is­lam­abad to stay away from cast­ing votes, JKLF rep­re­sen­ta­tives said that his­tory stands witness to the fact that though th­ese so­called elec­tions are fought in the name of progress and devel­op­ment but peo­ple who win th­ese polls re­main only de­ployed for safe­guard­ing the in­ter­ests of the cam­paign, a writ­ten mes­sage from the party Chair­man, Muham­mad Yasin Ma­lik, was also de­liv­ered to the peo­ple in which he asked them to boy­cott the elec­tions. It is to men­tion here that by-elec­tions will be held in the con­stituency on June 22 on the seat of the so-called Kash­mir As­sem­bly which was lay­ing va­cant af­ter the death of former pup­pet Chief Min­is­ter, Mufti Muham­mad Say­eed, in
