Sindh Po­lice benev­o­lent, wel­fare board set up

KARACHI—Sindh Po­lice Benev­o­lent/ Wel­fare Board has been es­tab­lished with the ap­proval of the provin­cial gov­ern­ment.

This was an­nounced by the spokesman of the Sindh po­lice here on Satur­day who fur­ther stated that a no­ti­fi­ca­tion in this re­gard has been is­sued.

The Chair­man of the Board would be the In­spec­tor General of Po­lice (IGP) Sindh. The Ad­di­tional IG Sindh would be the vice- chair­man.

It was fur­ther pointed out that the Board, with 13 mem­bers, would be a pol­icy-mak­ing body.

The Board would re­view the wel­fare pol­icy and run the benev­o­lent/ wel­fare fund and may in­tro­duce ben­e­fi­cial changes. It would hold meet­ings twice in an year.

The first one would be held in Septem­ber this year. The Board would also frame rules and get ap­proval from the of­fi­cials con­cerned.

Board would be au­tho­rized to form var­i­ous com­mit­tees and scru­ti­nize wel­fare cases and also ad­min­is­ter the in­vest­ment, it was fur­ther stated.—APP
