Sindh Police benevolent, welfare board set up
KARACHI—Sindh Police Benevolent/ Welfare Board has been established with the approval of the provincial government.
This was announced by the spokesman of the Sindh police here on Saturday who further stated that a notification in this regard has been issued.
The Chairman of the Board would be the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh. The Additional IG Sindh would be the vice- chairman.
It was further pointed out that the Board, with 13 members, would be a policy-making body.
The Board would review the welfare policy and run the benevolent/ welfare fund and may introduce beneficial changes. It would hold meetings twice in an year.
The first one would be held in September this year. The Board would also frame rules and get approval from the officials concerned.
Board would be authorized to form various committees and scrutinize welfare cases and also administer the investment, it was further stated.—APP
