Mod­ern com­puter lab set up

FAISALABAD—A state-of-theart com­puter lab has been es­tab­lished at Gov­ern­ment Girls High School Bhatta Colony Sar­godha Road with an es­ti­mated cost of Rs 2 mil­lion.

Ha­jji Ab­dur Rasheed Lahore Trust has pro­vided fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance for the es­tab­lish­ment of mod­ern com­puter lab in the girls school.

Talk­ing to me­dia on Sun­day, Muham­mad Saeed Sheikh Chair­man of the Trust told that 16 most mod­ern com­put­ers have been pro­vided in the com­puter lab which has also been equipped with lat­est fur­ni­ture be­sides in­stal­la­tion of air-con­di­tioner.

187 fined over prof­i­teer­ing: The spe­cial price con­trol mag­is­trates have im­posed a to­tal fine of Rs 213,300 on 187 shop­keep­ers and fruit sell­ers for over­charg­ing.

A spokesman of the lo­cal ad­min­is­tra­tion told here on Sun­day that spe­cial price con­trol mag­is­trates while check­ing 293 shops and stalls in 177 mar­kets of the city, found 187 shop­keep­ers in­volved in prof­i­teer­ing.

Shope­keep­ers have been warned to stop over­charg­ing oth­er­wise, le­gal ac­tion would be taken against them, spokesman added. A sum of Rs 14.7 mil­lion has been al­lo­cated for pro­vid­ing sub­sidy to the con­sumers in Ra­mazan Bazaars of district Faisalabad.

Sec­re­tary Mar­ket Com­mit­tee Muham­mad Yousuf while talk­ing to me­dia on Sun­day said that as many as 19 Sas­tay Ra­mazan Bazaars have been es­tab­lished in var­i­ous parts of the district where es­sen­tial items were be­ing pro­vided to the peo­ple at sub­si­dized rates.—APP
