Pro-peo­ple bud­get

IS­LAM­ABAD— Pak­istan Peo­ple’s Party (PPP) Sen­a­tor Saeed Ghani has con­grat­u­lated Chief Min­is­ter Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Fi­nance Min­is­ter Sindh Syed Mu­rad Ali Shah for an­nounc­ing a pro-peo­ple bud­get for the year 2016-17. In a state­ment, Sen­a­tor Saeed Ghani said that this bud­get proves that PPP is com­mit­ted to make Sindh a prov­ince of de­vel­op­ment and wel­fare. The bud­get has fo­cused ed­u­ca­tion, health, law and or­der, en­ergy and de­vel­op­ment projects. Sep­a­rate funds have been al­lo­cated for every di­vi­sion in Sindh so that the en­tire pop­u­la­tion can get ben­e­fits, he added. Saeed Ghni said that other prov­inces should also follow the PPP so that peo­ple can get re­lief. He said that it is a land­mark that Rs 160.5 bil­lion for ed­u­ca­tion and Rs 65.9 bil­lion for health had been al­lo­cated that showed gov­ern­ment’s com­mit­ment that it was se­ri­ous in bring­ing re­forms in these vi­tal sec­tors. The min­is­ter in­vited all stake­hold­ers of the prov­ince to come for­ward and work to­gether for the bet­ter­ment of the peo­ple of Sindh. —APP
