Charge sheeted of­fi­cers on lu­cra­tive posts

PE­SHAWAR—Over 20 se­nior of­fi­cers of BPS-17 to BPS 20 of Com­mu­ni­ca­tion and Works Depart­ment KP who were pe­nal­ized and charge-sheeted in var­i­ous depart­men­tal en­quiries have been placed against lu­cra­tive posts in higher ranks in­stead of tak­ing ac­tion against them.

Of­fi­cial sources on con­di­tion of anonymity told APP on Monday that ma­jor­ity of the SDOs, XENs, Chief En­gi­neers who were awarded ma­jor or mi­nor penal­ties in the find­ings of var­i­ous en­quiry re­ports have been re­posted against se­nior po­si­tions dur­ing last one year.

In most of the cases, the charge sheeted of­fi­cers have been ex­on­er­ated by Chief Ex­ec­u­tive of the province ap­par­ently un­der political pres­sure.

This has cre­ated se­ri­ous re­sent­ment and sense of de­pri­va­tion among the hon­est and up­right of­fi­cers in C&W Depart­ment.

The inquiries against the of­fi­cers are usu­ally ini­ti­ated on var­i­ous charges like cor­rup­tion, mis­ap­pro­pri­a­tion of funds, fudg­ing, and mis­use of power or author­ity and mis­con­duct etc.
