Train­ing work­shop on re­search method­ol­ogy

IS­LAM­ABAD—COMSATS In­sti­tute of In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy (CIIT), Depart­ment of Hu­man­i­ties and its dis­ci­pline of In­ter­na­tional Re­la­tions (IR) Monday or­ga­nized 3day train­ing work­shop on Re­search Method­ol­ogy: Meth­ods and Tools.

On the in­au­gu­ral day, Dr Syed Qandil Ab­bas, As­sis­tant Pro­fes­sor and the re­source per­son from Quaid-i-Azam Univer­sity (QAU) while ad­dress­ing the par­tic­i­pants of the work­shop held that no na­tion could progress with­out fo­cus­ing on re­search and in­no­va­tion. He said qual­ity re­search was es­sen­tial and vi­tal to hu­man de­vel­op­ment all over the world.

He said the work­shop would en­hance ca­pac­ity of par­tic­i­pants in the field of re­search method­ol­ogy and help them in pur­su­ing their fu­ture re­search projects.

Aqeela Asif, As­sis­tant Pro­fes­sor at CIIT and or­ga­nizer of the event, high­lighted var­i­ous is­sues re­lated to re­search and method­ol­ogy which will be cov­ered in the work­shop. She said that such ac­tiv­i­ties are nec­es­sary to equip stu­dents and re­searchers with tools to con­duct qual­ity re­search. She added that re­search is vi­tal for the progress in ev­ery field of knowl­edge. There­fore, it is nec­es­sary for the re­searchers of ev­ery dis­ci­pline to get ac­quainted with re­search method­olo­gies. S.M Ali Zaidi, lec­turer at CIIT, stressed the need and the im­por­tance of re­search for so­cial change. He said that na­tions can develop only through adopt­ing sci­en­tific ap­proach to the is­sues.

Stu­dents of in­ter­na­tional re­la­tions and other dis­ci­plines par­tic­i­pated in the work­shop and showed their in­ter­est and ap­pre­ci­ated the lec­ture and ac­ti­vates of the work­shop.
