SHC allows department store to remain open for the day

Pakistan Observer - - KARACHI CITY - OUR REPORTER

KARACHI—The Sindh High Court has allowed the local super store, Imtiaz market to remain open throughout the day, nullifying the administration order to shut it off between 330 p.m. and 930 p.m.

The court said on an appeal from the store management that the duty to control traffic or solve issues for jams etc was the responsibility of the administration, which should make ar- rangement to ease congestion on roads, and remove vehicles parked outside the premises, or puncture it to warn people against parking their vehicles in disorderly fashion.

The issue had arisen after the opening of the store on MIrza Abul Ispahani Road, had caused massive traffic jams on Gulshae Iqbal roads and peripheral areas. The administration, coming under mounting pressure from public and media, had curtailed its operational timing, which the court discarded Monday.
