Pakistan Observer - - NATIONAL -

ISLAMABAD— Leader of the Opposition in Senate Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan Tuesday demanded deployment of impartial officers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to meet the requirements of ensuring free, fair and transparent elections in the valley. Speaking in Senate on a point of order, he said Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed had written a letter to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for withdrawing the services of Bashir Ahmed Memon, a BS-21 official of Pakistan police service as AJK Inspector General of Police (IGP). He said elections are scheduled to be held in July this year, the dubious conduct of IGP may tarnish the elections, so he should be removed from the post.—APP
