Dr. Tahir ul Qadri has warned the Punjab government not to create hurdles in the PAT’s way of peaceful protest. He was talking to the press at the London Airport on his arrival from Toronto, Canada. Dr. Sahib will arrive in Lahore on 15th of June. He would lead the protest rally on 17th June to observe the second anniversary of Model Town gruesome tragedy, when the Police shot 14 persons including two women.

The Judicial Commission held the Chief Minister Punjab responsible for the tragic incident but he did not resign from the Job even after his promise to do so. The FIR of the Model Town incident was registered on the direction of the Chief of the Army Staff. We are still waiting for justice in this case. Victims’ families refused the blood money offered by the Punjab Government. It was the worst nightmare for the citizens of Lahore who watched the state police straight shooting unarmed peaceful citizens. There is no such brutal example in the civilized world. We have been denied justice even after the passage of two long years. No nation can survive without justice however decadent or corrupt system it may have. We must learn lessons from the history, when the nations were destroyed for such shortcomings. — Via email
