Oper­a­tion against trans­porters for over­charg­ing

RAWALPINDI—City Traf­fic Po­lice (CTP) has launched a grand oper­a­tion against trans­porters for over­charg­ing from pas­sen­gers dur­ing Ra­mazan-ul-Mubarak.

Ac­cord­ing to Act­ing Chief Traf­fic Of­fi­cer (CTO) Iftikhar ul Haq, trans­porters have been warned to avoid from over­charg­ing, oth­er­wise, strict ac­tion would be taken against them in ac­cor­dance with the law.

He said tahat if the Pub­lic Ser­vice Ve­hi­cles (PSVs) found in­volved in over­charg­ing would be is­sued chal­lan slips and im­posed fine.

He said that special squads of City Traf­fic Po­lice have been formed for con­duct­ing raids and check­ing the is­sue of over­charg­ing.

The CTO also di­rected the DSPs traf­fic, sec­tor in­charges and war­dens to per­form their du­ties to check the over­charg­ing in pub­lic trans­port ef­fi­ciently.

A special cell has also been es­tab­lished to re­ceive pub­lic com­plaints against over­charg­ing by trans­porters through helpline 1915 and 051-9272616.—APP
