Gi­lani de­plores civil­ian killings

SRINAGAR—Se­nior Hur­riyat leader and Chair­man Na­tional Peo­ples Party Chair­man Syed Salim Gi­lani in a state­ment ex­pressed se­ri­ous con­cern over the killing of a youth Tan­veer Sul­tan and a lady dur­ing a dra­matic en­counter at Sri­na­garJummu high­way near Kud.

Call­ing a for an im­par­tial probe in the killing of youth in Kud, Salim Gi­lani said this type of fake en­counter is not fist of its kind, but the peo­ple of Kash­mir have wit­nessed such agony and pain from the last sev­eral decades at the hands of In­dian oc­cu­pa­tional forces.

Gee­lani said that in Kash­mir ev­ery Kash­miri is be­ing seen sus­pi­cious and for mere pro­mo­tions and medals they (Kash­miri) are slaugh­tered day to day. He said the wounds of Hand­wara Killings were still fresh and this gory in­ci­dent was spon­sored to mere in­ter­ests. Salim Gi­lani while ex­press­ing his sym­pa­thy and sol­i­dar­ity with the fam­i­lies of Tan­veer and other slain lady said on one hand con­spir­a­cies are be­ing hatched to change the de­mog­ra­phy of Kash­mir on the other peo­ple were fac­ing tyranny in form of killings, tor­ture, ar­rests, curbs and atroc­i­ties. —Email
