Gilani deplores civilian killings
SRINAGAR—Senior Hurriyat leader and Chairman National Peoples Party Chairman Syed Salim Gilani in a statement expressed serious concern over the killing of a youth Tanveer Sultan and a lady during a dramatic encounter at SrinagarJummu highway near Kud.
Calling a for an impartial probe in the killing of youth in Kud, Salim Gilani said this type of fake encounter is not fist of its kind, but the people of Kashmir have witnessed such agony and pain from the last several decades at the hands of Indian occupational forces.
Geelani said that in Kashmir every Kashmiri is being seen suspicious and for mere promotions and medals they (Kashmiri) are slaughtered day to day. He said the wounds of Handwara Killings were still fresh and this gory incident was sponsored to mere interests. Salim Gilani while expressing his sympathy and solidarity with the families of Tanveer and other slain lady said on one hand conspiracies are being hatched to change the demography of Kashmir on the other people were facing tyranny in form of killings, torture, arrests, curbs and atrocities. —Email
