People be motivated to donate blood: Dahar
KARACHI—The people should be motivated to donate blood voluntarily. This was stressed by the Sindh Minister for Health, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar, here on Tuesday.
He was of the view that many human lives can be saved if a large number of people specifically youngsters donate blood voluntarily and for creating awareness in this regard a massive awareness campaign should be launched.
This he suggested on blood donors day while talking to Dr. Zahid Ansari Secretary Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA) here.
In the meeting Dr. Zahid Ansari briefed the Provincial Minister Health about measures taken by SBTA to provide safe blood to the patients.
While directing Secretary SBTA, the Health Minister called for holding more walks and seminars on the issue to create awareness regarding blood donations and to ensure safe blood to the patients.
He also directed to keep a vigilant eye on private blood banks and seal them if they violated standards.
Dahar said that all stakeholders should be taken on board and he requested media as well to come forward to create awareness.—APP
