Peo­ple be mo­ti­vated to donate blood: Da­har

KARACHI—The peo­ple should be mo­ti­vated to donate blood vol­un­tar­ily. This was stressed by the Sindh Min­is­ter for Health, Jam Me­htab Hus­sain Da­har, here on Tues­day.

He was of the view that many hu­man lives can be saved if a large num­ber of peo­ple specif­i­cally young­sters donate blood vol­un­tar­ily and for cre­at­ing aware­ness in this re­gard a mas­sive aware­ness cam­paign should be launched.

This he sug­gested on blood donors day while talk­ing to Dr. Zahid An­sari Sec­re­tary Sindh Blood Trans­fu­sion Author­ity (SBTA) here.

In the meet­ing Dr. Zahid An­sari briefed the Pro­vin­cial Min­is­ter Health about mea­sures taken by SBTA to pro­vide safe blood to the pa­tients.

While di­rect­ing Sec­re­tary SBTA, the Health Min­is­ter called for hold­ing more walks and sem­i­nars on the is­sue to cre­ate aware­ness re­gard­ing blood do­na­tions and to en­sure safe blood to the pa­tients.

He also di­rected to keep a vig­i­lant eye on pri­vate blood banks and seal them if they vi­o­lated stan­dards.

Da­har said that all stake­hold­ers should be taken on board and he re­quested me­dia as well to come for­ward to cre­ate aware­ness.—APP
