77 robbers arrested, huge cache of arms recovered
RAHIM YAR KHAN—As many as 77 robbers were arrested and huge cache of arms recovered in Rahim Yar Khan during last two weeks. This was stated by District Police Officer (DPO) Rahim Yar Khan Zeeshan Asghar while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.
DPO Zeeshan Asghar said that several teams of police continued raids and search operations against outlaws in Machka, Zahir Peer and surrounding areas of Rahim Yar Khan during past two weeks.
He said besides arresting 77 wanted robbers, the police recovered arms including 27 Kalashnikovs, 7 rifles, 8 pistols, several guns and thousands of rounds. The detainees were being interrogated at different po- lice stations of the district after registering cases against them, he added. DPO Zeeshan Asghar reiterated resolve that police will continue operations against outlaws to free the Rahim Yar district of crimes and criminals.
Meanwhile, the police busted 14-members of a gang of robbers and three policemen were injured in fire exchange here on Wednesday. District Police Officer (DPO) Mubbashir Maikan said that the police on tip-off conducted operation against robber gang involved in committing dacoities and depriving citizen of belongings of the citizens besides supplying arms, providing information to robbers of Chottu Gang in Baggar G Kaccha area of Rajanpur. —DNA
