Scat­tered rain thun­der­storm with strong gusty winds ex­pected

ISLAMABAD —Scat­tered rain-thun­der­shower with strong gusty winds is ex­pected in up­per ar­eas of Pun­jab and Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), while heavy rain fall is ex­pected at iso­lated places in next 24 hours. Ac­cord­ing to an of­fi­cial of Met of­fice, that rain-thun­der­storm is forecast at Rawalpindi, Gu­jran­wala, La­hore, Sar­godha, Faisal­abad, Pe­shawar, Mar­dan, Ko­hat di­vi­sions and Islamabad while iso­lated heavy rain falls is likely in Rawalpindi, Gu­jran­wala di­vi­sions and Islamabad.

Rain-thun­der­storm with gusty winds is also ex­pected at scat­tered places in Hazara, Malakand di­vi­sions, FATA, Kash­mir and Gil­git-Baltistan how­ever, hot and dry weather to pre­vail else­where in the coun­try. An of­fi­cial of Met of­fice told APP that sea­sonal low lies over north Balochis­tan with its trough ex­tend­ing east­ward. Strong moist cur­rents from Ara­bian sea are con­tin­u­ously pen­e­trat­ing in up­per/eastern parts and Kash­mir and likely to con­tinue dur­ing next 48 days.

In last 24 hours weather re­mained hot and dry in most parts of the coun­try.

Rain­fall recorded dur­ing last 24 hours re­mained La­hore (City 05mm, AP 02mm). Max­i­mum Tem­per­a­tures recorded on Wed­nes­day were Dal­bandin, Larkana, Dadu, Sha­heed Be­nazirabad, Sibbi, Ko­hat 46øC, Bhakkar, Ja­cob­a­bad, Tur­bat, R.Y. Khan 45øC, Islamabad 41øC, La­hore 43øC, Karachi 34øC, Pe­shawar 42øC, Quetta 40øC and Kalat 34øC.—APP
