Sindh budget abandos Thar

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION -

The 865 billion Budget for the financial year 2016-17 has been announced by the Sindh government. According to estimations, the deficit in the Provincial budget would be between 13 and 14 billion.

The budget, which also includes 150 billion for education and 55 billion for health, is an injustice to the poor people of the Sindh Province. However, on the other hand, the badly drought hit area Thar has once again become the victim of neglects from the Provincial government since no specific budget has been allocated for people of Thar. I would rather ask the Sindh govt to focus on Thar too. Sadly, the declared budget of Sindh entirely deprives poor sector in the Province. — Karachi
