Kerry, Saudi Crown Prince dis­cuss con­flict zones

HAMEED SHA­HEEN ISLAMABAD—Sec­re­tary Kerry hosted Deputy Crown Prince Mo­hammed bin Sal­man on for an if­tar din­ner in recog­ni­tion of the Deputy Crown Prince’s visit to the United States, says spokesman John Kirby ac­cord­ing to US State Depatt’s web­page.

The two re­viewed the strong and en­dur­ing re­la­tion­ship be­tween the United States and Saudi Arabia and dis­cussed a broad range of re­gional is­sues, in­clud­ing Ye­men, Syria, Libya, and coun­ter­ing ter­ror­ism. They also dis­cussed the King­dom’s plans to trans­form its econ­omy through its Na­tional Trans­for­ma­tion Pro­gram.

Fi­nally, the two dis­cussed this weekend’s shoot­ing in Or­lando and ex­pressed their shared com­mit­ment to con­tinue their co­op­er­a­tion in com­bat­ting the spread of vi­o­lent ex­trem­ism, both re­gion­ally and in­ter­na­tion­ally.
