RCB seals 60 properties for nonpayment of tax
RAWALPINDI—The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) tax recovery teams on Wednesday sealed 60 buildings as their owners were property tax defaulters. According to RCB spokesman, the civic body sealed the properties in Masrial Road, Saddar, Naseerabad, Allahabad, Dhoke Banaras, Dhoke Mustakeem and Marble Factory areas.
The board on Wednesday also recovered property tax arrears amouting to Rs 5.2 million. He informed, the board had made it clear that the buildings would not be de-sealed until the owners would pay the property tax. He said, the RCB teams also disconnected water supply connections of 35 domestic and commercial units in different areas as the owners failed to pay the water supply charges. On the directive of Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) RCB, Dr. Saima Shah, the tax recovery campaign has been accelerated, he added.—APP
