Teachers’ pivtol role for development in education sector lauded
KARACHI—Teachers play a pivotal role in the development and progress of the society and community. This was stated by the Dean of Karachi University’s Faculty of Education, Prof Dr Shagufta Shahzadi, on Wednesday.
She was addressing a ceremony on completion of four years of Faculty of Education, University of Karachi. Dr. Shagufta was of the opinion that the teachers need to be professionally trained in order to guide the students for facing the modern challenges of the contemporary world.
She pointed out that the Faculty of Education, Karachi University, has completed its four years and the credit of its success goes to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser.
It was further pointed out that the courses in the new B.Ed. program have been developed at national level after consultation with USAid, HEC, national and international experts.
This curriculum is used in various prestigious universities of the country. Dr. Shagufta said that the first batch of our program has come out and some of them are already in jobs before announcement of their results.
She thanked the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser and Dean Faculty of Social Sciences KU Prof. Dr. Moonis Ahmar for their support towards the academic activities of Faculty of Education KU.—APP
