Com­pen­sa­tion for po­lice mar­tyrs en­hanced

KARACHI—The Sindh gov­ern­ment has en­hanced com­pen­sa­tion for mar­tyred po­lice of­fi­cers/of­fi­cials from ex­ist­ing Rs 200,000 to Rs 500,000, plus a plot of land, and job for one son or daugh­ter or widow of those lay­ing down their lives in the dis­charge of their du­ties, says an of­fi­cial no­ti­fi­ca­tion is­sued here Wed­nes­day.

The new slabs will be 1) Rs 500,000 per head to fam­i­lies of sha­heed of­fi­cers/ of­fi­cials, and job in grade-1 to grade 15 with­out ob­serv­ing pre­scribed for­mal­i­ties, the an­nounce­ment said.

For per­ma­nently in­ca­pac­i­tated the amount will be Rs 500,000, and for par­tial or tem­po­rary in­ca­pac­i­ta­tion it will be from Rs 50,000 to Rs 200,000 de­pend­ing on grav­ity of in­jury.

The an­nounce­ment made it clear that new en­hance­ment will be ap­pli­ca­ble only to per­sons suf­fer­ing af­ter June 1, 2016. Modal­i­ties for plot al­lot­ment will be no­ti­fied sep­a­rately through Po­lice Wel­fare Fund or the Sindh Board of Rev­enue, it added.
