CJP directs for timely compliance of court directions
ISLAMABAD—Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali Thursday reviewed the performance of last six months of Human Right Cell of Supreme Court of Pakistan and directed Director General of the Cell to ensure proper and timely compliance of the Court directions by the public functionaries.
The Chief Justice was informed that HR Cell working under the direct supervision of his Lordship, receives average 2500 applications per month.
The backlog of applications in the HR Cell of Apex Court on 01st December 2015 was 10750 applications. As 14893 new applications were instituted during the period from 01st December, 2015 to 31st May 2016, the progressive total of pending applications came to 25343 applications. Out of these, 15740 applications were disposed of during the above mentioned period. The backlog on 31st May 2016 remained 9903 applications.
