All- round Shi­raz steers Da­wood Sports to first win

KARACHI—A Bril­liant All round dis­play from cap­tain Shi­raz Ali as Da­wood Sports clinched a 35-run vic­tory over Anis Hus­sain Cricket Club in the 29th Aga Khan Ra­mazan Fes­ti­val T20 Cricket Tour­na­ment at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground here on Wed­nes­day.

Da­wood’s first suc­cess in the competition af­ter a the loss vs Medicam in Group “A”, the vic­tory was made pos­si­ble by Shi­raz who first scored a 33ball 49 runs with the aid of four hug sixes to help his team col­lect 158-8 in 20 overs.

Opener Ar­salan Bashir hit four bound­aries and two sixes in mak­ing a 28-ball 39 runs. Ah­mer bin Nasir con­trib­uted 27 in 18 ball with 4 fours.

Spin­ner Arif Khan and Slow left Armer Nadeem Khan claimed two wick­ets each.

Anis Hus­sain CC, in re­ply, could muster 123-10 in 19.5 overs. with Adeel Khan 24 in 15 ball with three fours and s six, Arif Khan 18 in 12 balls with two sixes.

Off Spin­ner Shi­raz Ali fin­ished with ex­cel­lent fig­ure 3.5 overs with 3 wick­ets for 9 runs while left-arm­ers M.Asad claimed three wick­ets.

Mean­while, The Fifth Cor­po­rate T-20 Cricket Cup will com­mence here from to­day June 17.

Eight cor­po­rate teams would par­tic­i­pate in the con­test and prom­i­nent play­ers would be seen in ac­tion. It would be played at the Moin Khan Acad­emy (DHA Sports Club) here up to July 2.—APP
