KP Govt to sup­port polo teams dur­ing Shan­dur Polo fes­ti­val

PE­SHAWAR—Spe­cial As­sis­tant to Chief Min­is­ter for Tourism Ab­dul Ma­neem on Thurs­day said the Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) gov­ern­ment would sup­port polo teams of Gil­git-Baltistan dur­ing Shan­dur Polo Fes­ti­val.

Pre­sid­ing over a meet­ing here to re­view ar­range­ments for Shan­dur fes­ti­val, he said the provin­cial gov­ern­ment in­tends to pro­mote tourism in KP, adding that all the lo­cal and for­eigner tourists to be come to wit­ness Shan­dur polo fes­ti­val would be guest of the provin­cial gov­ern­ment.

He said that KP Tourism Cor­po­ra­tion Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa would sup­port Camp­ing Vil­lage, Cul­tural Mu­sic, Paraglid­ing and other ac­tiv­i­ties dur­ing the fes­ti­val and would make the event a big suc­cess of the year.

He con­vened a meet­ing of all stake­hold­ers in next week in Chitral to fi­nal­ize the ar­raign­ments and ac­tiv­i­ties.

The meet­ing was at­tended by MPAs Fozia Bibi, Sar­dar Hus­sain, Salim Khan, Dis­trict Nazim Chitral Magh­fi­rat Shah, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor TCKP Mush­taq Ahmed Khan, GM Ad­mini Sa­j­jad Hameed, GM TICs Muham­mad Ali, Chief Plan­ning Of­fi­cer Hayat Ali Shah and oth­ers.—APP cruised to a 6-3, 6-4 vic­tory on Thurs­day.

Mur­ray will face Bri­tish wild­card Kyle Ed­mund for a place in the semi-fi­nals af­ter brush­ing aside Al­jaz Be­dene, an­other of his com­pa­tri­ots, in the sec­ond round of the Wim­ble­don warm-up event.
