QYST fi­nal round to com­mence to­mor­row

KARACHI—The fi­nal ses­sion of Qual­i­fy­ing Youth Scrabble Tour­na­ment (QYST) U-18 for se­lec­tion of top ten play­ers for World Youth Scrabble Cham­pi­onship (WYSC) in France would be­gin on June 18.

QYST would be held at Sea Breach Ho­tel on Satur­day and Sun­day from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Youth Pro­gram Di­rec­tor, Pak­istan Scrabble As­so­ci­a­tion (PSA), Tariq Per­vaiz ex­pressed such views while talk­ing to APP here on Thurs­day.

The se­ries of QYST rounds were held ear­lier where 800 play­ers par­tic­i­pated and 40 play­ers have been short-listed on their per­for­mance ba­sis so far, he said.

Now, top ten play­ers would be se­lected from short-listed 40 play­ers on two-day ses­sion to be held on Satur­day and Sun­day.

Se­lected Top Ten would par­tic­i­pate in World Youth Scrabble Cham­pi­onship (WYSC) to be held in Au­gust this year at Lille City in France.

The win­ner of WYSC would be awarded with $2000 dol­lar, he added.—APP
