Clinical care in urology nephrology, kidney treatment being provided free at Shifa Int’l Hospital
ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Kidney Institute (PKI) is a renowned Islamabad based social welfare organization that is providing state of the art clinical care in the fields of urology, nephrology and kidney transplant, free of cost at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad.
This was told by the president of PKI, Prof. Saeed Akhtar during an Iftar dinner for fund raising, organized by PKI, which was attended by a large number of eminent persons, representatives of business and industrial sector and medical community of the twin cities. Famous nuclear scientist, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan was the chief guest.
Other known personalities who were present on this occasion included renowned columnist, intellectual and former IG police Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, the legendary humorous poet Mr. Anwar Masood, President PKI Prof. Saeed Akhtar and renowned businessman Mr. Akbar Ali Matoo. The event was conducted by famous TV anchor Mr. Ammar Masood.
Prof. Saeed Akhtar informed the audience about the grave situation of kidney diseases in Pakistan and the valuable efforts made by PKI in this regard. Mr. Zulfiqar Cheema strongly endorsed Prof. saeed Akhtar and urged people to donate generously for this noble cause.
He said that Prof. Saeed has returned to Pakistan filled with the commitment and passion to serve fellow countrymen. Mr. Anwar Masood in his typical witty style amused the audience with his poetry. Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan emphasized that steps should be taken to improve the medical treatment facilities so that everyone could get treatment within the country. He urged people to help Prof. Saeed in this noble cause. Mr. Akbar Ali Matoo gave the concluding remarks.
