Dollar East suffers 2nd defeat in Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cup
KARACHI—Defending Champion Dollar East hopes dashed for qualifying for the last eight rounds in Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cup Cricket Tournament whent it suffered a defeat by 16 runs at the hands of NBP here at the Lawai Stadium on Friday.
Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt, who was banned on the charge of spot-fixing by the ICC, slammed an enterprising 63 off 42 balls with seven boundaries and one six. But that failed to save his team from defeat.
Chasing 170 for victory, Dollar East could manage 153 after losing seven wickets in 20 overs.
NBP captain Kamran Akmal hit an attacking 48 valuable runes in 31 balls with five fours and two sixes to win the man of the match award. Ahsan Ali contributed 49 in 37 deliveries laced four hits to the boundary and two over the ropes.
Inserted to bat first NBP raised a total of 169 for seven wickets in 20 overs.
